The Honorable Robbie Meripol Barr founded BarrADR in 2013. For 16 years before that, she practiced mediation and arbitration at Colorado's largest mediation firm, where she successfully settled cases involving employment law, complex commercial transactions, construction defects and delays, professional malpractice, real property, environmental law, personal injury/ wrongful death, insurance, civil rights and everything in between.Barr's ability to settle claims stems in part from a diverse legal background that gives her multiple perspectives on the court process. In private practice beginning in 1980, she tried complex civil cases, developing special expertise in commercial torts, real estate litigation, construction disputes, professional malpractice and all types of contractual claims.

Prior to her appointment to the bench in 2015, she was a partner in the Intellectual Property Group at a private firm, where her practice focused on complex intellectual property litigation. She also served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Colorado in the Civil Division from 2000-2004, and as a law clerk to the Honorable Peter J. Messitte on the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.
